poetry & short story author – artist & nature lover
wrapping the stars around my shoulders
I hear you call my name
weeping, I turn away
for even the mere thought of
your countenance gazing at me
I am weak, I am small
your beauty, more than I can behold
you snatched my breath away
I’m in a vacuum
orbiting around you
my path set, unalterable
gravity holds me close
‘round and ‘round I spin
light, dark, dark, light
you, oh glorious splendor, are magnificent
I, merely a lump of clay
drawing from your strength
reflecting your radiance
you exhale the cold quiet of atmosphere
filling my lungs, giving voice to my song
your light rises and sets upon my face
I’m weeping for fear
spinning on my axis
your intense beauty sweeps over me
beyond me, through me
I will never find another like you
you are my most precious delight
your name caresses my lips
over my shoulder, I steal a glance
then pulling the stars tighter
I fall deeper in love

This is simply a quite beautiful love song, Tara.
As they say, when you know, you know.

The joy and terror of falling in love
and falling, falling, falling
until falling becomes flying

That it exactly, Bob! I wrote something about that before… now I feel I need to dig that one back up.

So beautiful. I kept thinking about littleness, being a small speck in the vast universe, but how love & connectedness can make us feel so grand & fulfilled.

You’ve always been great at delivering poems that have a cosmic sweep to them, soaring in flight like others have said.
