You know the one
Always there when the sun shines
or when you find five bucks on the sidewalk
The first time you mention
the creeping sadness in your heart
>>POOF<<
Magic disappearing act
Gone
How are you? they ask
I’m feeling a bit depressed, you reply
. . .
Crickets chirp
You can hear your plants growing
You sigh
Another lonely day
Without the much-needed connection
Right when you need it most

[sigh] so disappointing when that happens — and though the focus is more in the economic metaphor, a song comes — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Izh-mmqa108

I think we’ve all experienced this type of ‘friend’ at one time or another…

Those who cared, when, nobody bothered with us, these are, the, real friends we should, keep.

Some can’t see beyond the facade, I feel, whilst others don’t want to. Never easy.

It’s so true! We often see what we want to see rather than reality.

This is a precise description of how isolation impacts depression.

That’s one way of looking at it. Otherwise it might get depressing!

the only thing worse than a fair weather friend is a fair weather partner/lover … it feels like some of lifes hardest lessons involve trust, but where to then if we give up on trusting others?

That’s so hard! Sending you hugs. I’m here for all the ups and downs of being human. Only happiness and sunshine is rather boring and dishonest.

Exactly!! You need all the colors and flavors to appreciate anything at all.
