Strawberries & Cream

exquisite vows of wonder
trail down my ribs
heart beating faster as
whispered promises of conquest
description of submission
slip and skip ‘round my mind
binding and tying
I hold tight
entwine my fingers
pull these thoughts deeper
tongue-twisted and sparkly eyes
words escape yet
sound more like whimpers
it’s fresh summer strawberries
and crème fraîche on my lips
I’ve got nothing to say
but everything to feel

  1. I love the way the words and images twist and turn in the same way that you describe the experience, not to mention the way it seems to be a poem about one kind of desire, but is actually another!

  2. i once lived a few hundred metres from one of the bigger strawberry farms in the adelaide hills of south australia – these little red gems are simply divine and we would buy them by the kilo – but both literally and metaphorically this so works – to use the strawberry metaphorically is a most intimate and erotic construct to me anyway.

    • Mr Rider… you understood me perfectly! It’s is indeed a metaphorical strawberry… I must say, it must have smelled wonderful near that farm. We have wild strawberries here and they are 1,000 times better than the ones from the store, though very small.

  3. Oh, I see you changed the layout, etc. Interesting. Will take some getting used to since it’s quite a departure from the previous style.

Strawberries and cream are yummy! Perfect on a warm summer day.

    Stay golden!
