Star-Crossed Tongues

Effortlessly you slide deep inside
After signing your name
All along my curled edges
I sigh
I taste your essence
On my tongue
That which is truly you
Your profane mind
Coating your wicked mouth
I’m thirsty, ravenous
I want more
But now you’ve pushed inside me
And I’m overwhelmed
Exceedingly so
Full of your poetry
The music of your mind
I devour you
As you devour me
Your voice fills me perfectly
And still I want more

    1. Thank you Chris. In my mind, it was more about that emotional or intellectual connection with the art of poetry… but when I came across it a few months later, I realized that wasn’t quite how it came out… haha but I still decided to go ahead and release it upon the world.

      1. I like the way that this can be interpreted in more than one way, not only does it add depth but also gravitas: if the reader can move from the top note to the depths then they realise that the writer has quality and something genuine to impart.
Now I sound like a wine critic!
