Transmission Received

it was in the cold pale in-between
where I heard you whisper my name
I turned my face toward you
seven sisters stared back silently and
then I felt the silent shift inside

your pull is so strong
it has become my vitality

I spiraled in orbit then crashed hard
burning, howling
tearing the very fabric of space around me
I had to have you

the gravity here has made me heavy
I scarce can lift my head
the thick air stifles my lungs
I remember the icy vastness of before
I was comfortable then, though unsatisfied

now I wait

marooned and alone
I cling to the echo of your voice so familiar
I wait…. and I dream of home
