The longer I looked the more I saw
Bits of grey dotted with green
Green pushed to pink
Pink with yellow centers
Beetles skittering, flies bumbling
Pollen transfers
Little bits of dirt settling here, there
A seed dropped, fell to its side
Mouse whiskers then a sleek body
Tiptoeing a paw flips a leaf over
Brushing past a ripe mushroom
Spores release
Float and dance across the still air
Then a breath, a breeze whispers
Dispersal, new life awaiting

The true definition of the poet sees the beauty in something so simple you had taken it for granted.

Wow, thank you for that incredible compliment. I think we could all stand to slow down and look at the world around us a little more often.

My pleasure. I agree with you in totality; the moment is so beautiful we often don’t appreciate it until it’s gone. It’s nice just to take stock every now and then.

This is very nice. You really captured one of the things I like best about being out in the natural world- there is so much going on around us that doesn’t include or need us. It’s a good time to lose our bloated ego.

Poetic and beautiful, and dare i suggest metaphorical?
I like the static and the dance in this piece.

Thank you Mark! (hehe! It looks like I was reading your latest piece while you were reading mine.) I’m so glad you liked this. It’s a little piece of magic, indeed.

I like the scale approach to things, either telescoped in or seeing it all from space, a nice perspective.

Agreed. It’s also interesting how the micro reminds us to chill out about the macro.
