Unrelenting Ache

I miss you
But the words rang hollow
Because honestly
What I feel is so much more than
Simply missing someone
It’s a hole in my chest
An ache unrelenting
A part of me missing
My heart in tatters
Air unable to penetrate the walls of my lungs
Blood run cold
Vision blurred by tears
Feet restlessly pacing
Watching out the window down the drive
Don’t you see what you mean to me?
I’m on my knees
Shoulders shaking
Tears flowing
Longing for just one more touch
To have our fingers laced
To be made whole again
And still I whisper
I miss you
