Engravings

every word you whispered
etched itself deep
working right through my soul
my fingers trace along those edges
memories pulled from my depths
your soft voice so low
lifted shivers up and out
now dripping morning dew
howls escape my torn lips
violence within my sustenance
I collapse a shuddering heap
my spirit rests eternally in yours
your name tattooed forever just here
I am the work of your hands
move me
