Brain Infection

Dripping tar slid from glassy blues
Sliding down unwashed cheeks
Radiating infection as it goes
Filling the cracks and crevices
That life had hollowed out
With salt-flavored goo
Covering over
Pull away quick
Don’t touch or you’ll get it too
Eyes down
Lungs dry
Deep wracking breaths
Shudder and sigh
Corrupting pollution
Black, sticky mess
Doesn’t wash off
This is the infection
That is me

        1. Is this why you live where you do? So you can bury the bodies?

Also agreement. You are WAAAAAAAAAAAY to hard on yourself.

  1. Wowww! Such an incredibly vivid read that pulls the reader in 😀 Really enjoyed this!
I was thinking of linking some great flash-fiction / poetry / advice bloggers in my next Mystery Blogger Award. Would you like your blog signposted so new readers could check it out?

  2. We readers are objective in our opinions, while you are in an entirely different place with what you write. I wouldn’t try to feel what you are feeling, but I can only suggest, encourage and hope for the best. Which I have and remain to do, regardless of what you write or say.
