Ellipsis (Spiraling Omissions)

taking over…
taking control…
black nails biting skulls…
separating…
…uniting
completing without being whole
mind your tongue…
don’t hold back…
…release and absorb
backlash…
whiplash…
mouth agape…
neck sore…
…third eye open
let go and rise…
light flows in…
shadows stretch…
cower…
lids stretched wide…
lips sewn in a silent scream…
…all just a dream
a flicker in the pitch black…
all movement unseen…
ears picking up the sound of air thinning
pounding heart like a fist…
against the wall of a cell made of bone…
knock knock… knock knock…
let me out… let me out…
…press the voice back in deep
ear to the floor…
awaken…
…awaken dreamer
shadows whisper past…
eyes snap open…
sharp inhale of ice…
remember…
remember dear god don’t forget…
…don’t forget to die before you wake

The Spiral Artist, if you don’t already know, sees beneath the surface, perhaps to another dimension altogether. He’s the sentence-finisher in my life. He’s a little twisted and that’s just fine by me.

  1. I am blushing so red right now. I don’t think anyone’s called me “a little twisted” before.

As for this poem, you have done most, almost all the work and what a wonderful work it is. If ever there was a master class on how to use the ellipsis to creepily potent effect, not just to invoke a false air of mystery but to invoke a full-force feeling of creeping dread, malevolent plans and overall EVIL… this would be it.
