Shackled

Tethered
To these thoughts
Tied
To this way of thinking
Trapped
By my own inhibitions
Chained
By old memories
Bound
By endless repetitions
Restrained
By countless lies
Shackled
By longing and desire

Yet he cupped my chin
In his gentle palm
Spoke softly:
Your bonds are broken
Come and step free

Oh how I wish I could believe him
Release me from the chains
That are me

  2. The struggle you are going through is a real challenge and you capture it beautifully. Step free… risking the fall is the only was to rise.
